Founded in 1996 by Charlie Levin and Meghan Strell, Local Infinities created materials-based visual theater. As a visual artist, Charlie focused on the installation that encompassed the performers. As a theater artist, Meghan focused on the manipulation of the materials by the performers. In that way, each material became both environment and object; and in interaction with the performers, materials became metaphors ... creating visceral resonance in the eyes of the audience and creating new myths of the stories of our lives today.

Over nine years, Local Infinities produced eleven shows, curated two performance festivals featuring international and local artists, and performed at international festivals in Ukraine (Kyiv Travnevy) and the Netherlands (Oerel).
